Staying Healthy Can Keep Your Pet Healthy

We’re not sure what other health care practitioners would say, but we think that there is a lot of overlap between different specialty areas, our own lives, and our approach to our various lifestyles. This may sound nuts considering the fact that we work with dogs and cats, but at VRCC, we know that staying healthy isn’t important for just our patients.
This philosophy and passion for healthy living is what lead us to decide to participate in the Monument Avenue 10k. Many of the professionals who work at VRCC donned our practice’s logo and ran one of the most beautiful streets in Richmond to celebrate and support one another in our effort to focus on our own health.
For those who spend a lot of time taking care of others, which includes all pet owners and certainly veterinarians, it can be all too easy to forget to also take care of yourself. You should remember though that when you are healthy, you are better prepared to keep your pet healthy. And for those who have dogs who just can’t get enough hiking or running, exercise is a wonderful activity that you can do together.
At VRCC, staying healthy and fit helps us keep your pets healthy, too. Whether we need to stay focused during a long surgery or be physically and mentally prepared to deal with an emergency late at night,  our focus on self care ensures that we can offer your pet the best care possible.
